In frustration, I have now uninstalled version 18.6 from the problem system, re-installed version 18.5 (I still had the version 18.5 installation file on my PC), re-launched that version of Resolve (18.5) and it works just fine. Before purchasing it, I asked the vendor several times if it was a legitimate dongle and would they guarantee that it would work. Of course computer issues can get pretty muddled and I can't guarantee that there isn't Something About the Dongle (wasn't that a movie starring Ben Stiller?) I bought that dongle on line from Amazon. I bring all that up because it would seem that the dongle is not the problem. (The splash screen displays the word "Studio" when launching). That other drive still has Studio version 18.5 on it and continues to launch Resolve just fine. Since that upgrade failed, I left the other install as it was. That's the one that apparently now won't recognize the dongle. I only upgraded one drive's Resolve program to version 18.6. Obviously both of those Resolve systems need to recognize the same dongle plugged into the same computer, which they have been doing until I recently tried to upgrade. I have/had Resolve Studio version 18.5 installed on both drives for about 6 months now. Both system/boot hard drives are one terabyte SSDs.įor clarification, I have two system/boot drives on the same desktop computer described above.
